The M6 Stage 1 will connect Sydney’s south to the city’s wider motorway network. It will improve journey times, reduce congestion and remove trucks from local streets.
The joint venture will deliver an underground motorway connection between President Ave, Kogarah and the M8, mainline tunnels, exit/entry ramps, shared cycle and pedestrian pathways and tunnel stubs for a future Stage 2 of the M6 (subject to obtaining relevant planning approvals).
CARRABAY SCOPE
Carrabay are contracted by the CPB Ghella JV to deliver up to 7000t of reinforced D-wall cages to the M6 project for installation on site.
A diaphragm wall (D-wall) is a durable concrete structure that is constructed panel by panel to form a wall withinthe ground where it would be challenging for a piled wall.
Carrabay are contracted to 3D model, produce shop drawings, fabricate and transport the cages to the project over a 12 month period.
These cages weighed up to 36t each and when joined (spliced) on site weighed in excess of 70t.
At Carrabay we also utilized our Xpress service to supply reinforcement as required when the supplied cut and bent reinforcement was incorrectly supplied.
Carrabay managed both inbound and outbound deliveries, worked around the clock double shifting to ensure cages were both delivered to a high quality but also to a very tight program.
Carrabay worked on 3 structures on the M6 Project.
