The Council of the City of Sydney (the City) is carrying the Construction of the Green Square to Ashmore Connector Road and Associated Works.
The Project of which the first stage has been awarded to Delta is located within the Green Square Urban Renewal Area and connects Geddes Avenue to Bowden Street. The Green Square to Ashmore Connector (GS2AC) will comprise a new 380 metre road running from Botany Road to Bowden Street, intersecting O’Riordan Street and Bourke Road with two signalised intersections and upgrade works to the existing Botany Road/Geddes Avenue signalised intersection.
The City is committed to creating opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander owned businesses. The City encourages First Nations People businesses, Local SME, Start-ups as well as social enterprises (including Cooperatives) to work with us and respond to this opportunity.
This section of the works is the remediation of the existing land and demolition of the existing structures. Following this a 120m long 3m high retaining wall is to be constructed aligning the North face of the site.
CARRABAY SCOPE
Carrabay are contracted by Delta to construct the 120m long retaining wall to the north elevation of the site. The scope also includes the supply of the reinforcement which is to be tied institute.
The works is being carried out adjacent to earthwork activities where day to day planning and co-ordination take place to ensure that the site remains safe for all activities.
All the shutter systems used are a panel system which enables efficient construction in a confined area.
All temport works and permit to loads are carried out inline with both company procedures, designers requirements and Australian standards.
The client has praised Carrabay being proactive, safe and assisting in the palning of these works which was delayed because of COVID, contaminated group and pour weather.
